Hengeler Mueller advises BAWAG on acquisition of Barclays' German retail banking business
Jens advises corporate clients across a wide range of industry sectors, as well as financial investors on both corporate and financing aspects of joint ventures, M&A transactions and Venture Capital investments.
In recent years, Jens has been heavily involved in joint ventures in the renewable energy and media sectors. He advised Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Siemens on the joint financing and development of offshore wind farm, Veja Mate, together with Highland Group Holdings (2015). For the Danish utility DONG Energy, Jens worked on the investment of Global Infrastructure Partners and several German insurance undertakings in Gode Wind 1, an offshore wind farm in the North Sea developed by DONG Energy (2015). In the media sector, Jens advised Axel Springer to establish cooperations with Funke Mediengruppe and Viacom (2013-2015).
Previous M&A transactions in which Jens has advised include the acquisition by Korian S.A. of Casa Reha group, a major German nursery home chain from Advent and HgCapital (2015). In this transaction, Jens worked in an integrated team with Hengeler Mueller's French best friend Bredin Prat. For Sonic Healthcare, Jens has handled a number of acquisitions of medical laboratories in 2014 and 2015.
Jens frequently advises investors in Venture Capital transactions such as Baillie Gifford on its investment in Rocket start-up Hello Fresh, and the transformation of Hello Fresh into a German stock corporation to prepare for an IPO, and Mobile Telephone Networks (MTN), Africa's largest telecoms company, on its investment in Rocket start-up Africa Internet Holding that develops internet-based business models in Africa (2015-16).
