Hengeler Mueller advises BNP Paribas on financing for Bertelsmann

Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA has signed a EUR 675m loan facility for the financing of the complete acquisition of Penguin Random House. BNP Paribas Fortis SA/NV, Barclays Bank Ireland PLC and National Westminster Bank PLC were mandated as lead arrangers.

Hengeler Mueller advised BNP Paribas on the transaction. The team included partner Johannes Tieves as well as associate Tom Shingler (both Financing, Frankfurt).
